Investor Perception Study

Also known as: Perception Audit, IR Perception Study

An investor perception study gathers candid feedback from investors and analysts about how they view a company, its strategy, and its management.

An investor perception study is structured research, often conducted by a third party so respondents speak freely, that captures how the investment community really sees a company. It surfaces views on strategy, management credibility, communication, and valuation.

Why companies commission them

Management often hears a filtered version of investor sentiment. A perception study reveals the unvarnished view, including concerns investors may not raise directly, and highlights gaps between the intended equity story and how it actually lands.

Turning it into action

The findings guide where to sharpen messaging, which topics to address on the next earnings call, and how to refine investor targeting. It turns soft sentiment into a concrete IR plan.
