Roadshow

Also known as: Non-Deal Roadshow, NDR, Investor Roadshow

A roadshow is a series of meetings where company management presents to investors, used both around capital raises and as ongoing non-deal outreach.

A roadshow is a sequence of meetings in which management presents the company directly to investors. During an IPO or financing it is part of selling the deal. Outside of a transaction it is called a non-deal roadshow, or NDR, and serves ongoing relationship building.

What happens

Over one or several days, executives meet institutional investors in group sessions and one-on-ones, walking through the equity story and fielding detailed questions. These meetings are often arranged with the help of sell-side firms.

Why it matters

Roadshows build the personal conviction that drives large investment decisions. They are a centerpiece of investor targeting, putting management in front of the specific investors a company most wants on its register.
